Theodore Hagberg papers, 1870-1956.

Consists of correspondence to Miss Della Brallier, later Mrs. Theodore Hagberg, from Theodore Hagberg, dating from May 1906 to March 1916. The bulk of the letters are from 1906, as Theodore was in western North Dakota claiming his section of land in McKenzie County. One letter dates from 1908, and another dates from 1916. In addition to correspondence is the marriage certificate of Theodore and Della Hagberg, a copy of an indenture between husband and wife, and a certificate of title for their land. A two page handwritten reminiscence by Della Hagberg about her life and pioneering in western North Dakota from 1906-1907 is also included. A family portrait, likely of the Arah Jane and David Brallier family, Della's parents, from about 1889, is also included with the collection. A print of President Lincoln reading a book with his son Tad, taken February 9, 1864, by Anthony Berger of Mathew Brady Studio, but printed later, likely about 1870, is in the collection. Finally, two copies of the genealogy of William Tanner of South Kingston, Rhode Island (Della Brallier's family), are included, with an obituary of Theodore Hagberg from 1923, and a letter to a Mrs. Eston (Spencer, Iowa) regarding patenting of the Hagberg property, dated 1956.
